Proper Nutrition And Dog Feeding Techniques For Your Best Friend

Teaching the dog to sit down or stand up or linger or to perform actions is a lot effortless than feeding him. If you are functioning on a meticulous talent with your dog, you can ask him to execute it but training him the right feeding habits is an abstract and complicated task. So are you ready to take the challenge?

It is extremely essential that dogs are given to eat on a regular basis, on an outline with a proper to-do list, rather than having the food on a self feeding source. There are loads of fine grounds for this. Firstly, feeding dogs on demand does not allow for a period of break for their digestive systems. Even the fragrance of food churns their stomach giving no rest to their digestion. Dogs are always in search for food. Secondly, this is the most excellent thing for their absorption and can aid you to be conscious of the physical condition of your dog. Dogs that blow up their feed are predictable more rapidly when the feeding is made on a habitual program and not on requirement. Thirdly, you can easily come to know that something is wrong with your dog or your dog is unwell if he cuts down on eating. This is the best way for a master to judge his dog's poor condition.

If your dog is not eating properly, then try out different solutions. Dogs call for special arrangements like consuming food in special places. Feeding them on a standard basis but placing their food basin or a dog feeder in different regions of the livelihood accommodation, outdoors, indoors, in the garage, etc., will be ready to lend a hand at ease. You should take your dog with you on a camp out excursion or expedition for the night character. Use elevated dog feeders to give your dog a little excitement. It might also become easier for taller dogs to eat food.

While feeding your dog especially a puppy, take care of the following facts. Try to provide your dog with dry food items. For instance canned dog food is the best for your dog. Dogs should be given dog food only. Human food does not provide sufficient nutrition to dogs. You can provide some part of it from your kitchen also, but take care that dog food is also given in suitable quantity. Never serve boiling hot food to your dog. Your food should at room temperature. Use a dog feeder while serving food to your dog. These dog feeders are available in different sizes and designs. You can use a single bowl feeder for your puppy. Dogs need water at frequent intervals. Use a separate bowl for water. Keep this filled with water i.e. refill it at regular intervals. If your dog is not eating properly, consult a vet. Keep a check on your dog's weight to avoid any disorder. Treat your dog like your family member to keep him robust and full of zip.

Elevated Dog Feeders Provide Comfort and Proper Eating Posture For Your Pet

The concept of dog feeders is probably as old as the concept of petting itself. There are a wide range of feeders, and while some dog owners use normal plates or bowls to feed their dogs, other like to go for more sophisticated stuff like non-spill feeders, elevated feeders and electric feeders.

Elevated dog feeders are vet-recommended for the safety of your dog. Elevated dog feeders allow your dog to swallow the food properly, without gulping and reduced the air intake. This setup prevents the dog from choking hazards and results in better metabolism and digestion.

Elevated dog feeders are also suitable for small dining areas and reduce messing up of your dining area to a good extent. Because the feeder bowls are elevated, it becomes easier for you to get hold of them for putting dog food into the bowls. An elevated bowl system also ensures comfort for dogs with neck and back problems.

If you have more than two dogs that are not comfortable with eating on a double bowl system, you can use two or three single bowl feeders for your dogs at separate places. You can also use two single bowl feeders to separate your dog's feeding and drinking areas. With prices ranging for $50-$350 for single bowl elevated feeders, be rest assured that you will have a lot to choose from while deciding on your final choice of dog feeders.

You might like the clinical iron-aluminum type feeder system, or the classy wooden frame system. The design you choose also depends upon the kind of interiors you have. If you have a small dining area, you would prefer a light-weight aluminum feeder, preferably double bowl. This will save space and it'll be easier for you to move about with this system. If you have heavy wooden interiors, you would definitely like to go in for a dog feeder with a wooden stand with an aluminum or steel bowl. The texture of the stand and the bowl should match with the interiors of your apartment.

The latest in pet feeding system is the concept of automatic dog feeders. How many times has it happened that you have planned for a night out or a weekend trip, but you either had to carry your dog along with you, or had to drop the plan altogether in order to fed your dog? Automatic dog feeders are a solution to this problem. With these, you can stock up to 5-8 meals and program them in such a way that they automatically release the meal at the pre-decided time. All of these variants are micro-chip based and are guaranteed to take care of your dog's meals while you are out for a day or two. The cost of these feeders depends upon the sophistication of technology and the number of meals that can be stocked in them in one single go. Apart from food supplies, you can also ensure that your pet has adequate water supplies by using custom designed automatic feeders.

Fashionable Dog Beds And Dog Harnesses For Your Dog - Give Them A Christmas To Remember!

A dog harness is generally worn in collaboration with a dog collar and used in the place of leash attachment. It is needed for various purposes. For physical condition grounds, security necessity and reassure, dog harnesses are forever the most excellent option for your little dogs. This special harness is called small dog harness. Initially, it can ease your small pet from neck sprains, which by and large come to pass whenever he moves about or sprints around too swift and you're trying to be in command of him. Since the harness is fixed comfortably in the region of his chest, every time your dog pulls away, the weight is uniformly dispersed all the way through his shoulders. There is no danger of throat injury, and an end to the pungent sound for your dog.

If you are trying to buy a dog harness for a bigger dog, then go for a leather dog harness for your dog. These provide a good hold and durability for your dog. A dog harness is also very easy to put on, in view of the fact that the equipment used is extremely elastic they do not cause any roughness or unevenness in your dogs' fur. Your dog can remain as furry and soft as a new born puppy. The most accepted dog harnesses are made of malleable interlock, nylon, or suede. What's new? They are very straightforward to dirt free and are highly long-lasting. They can last for quite a lot of months or even years if your dog harness is of very good quality.

A dog harness is better than a dog collar. Dog collars, purposely the strap style, can be actually be painful for your small furry dog. As a topic of verity, if they are tattered and become too stiff, they will not only injure the gullet, but can also limit them from inhalation as it should be. And secondly, if a leash is put to the dog collar and the pet suddenly rolls to one region, it could affect the dog's neck, from a very grave neck injury to even fatal results at times. On the other hand a fortuitous pull on the front could harm their spinal column. While a collar only surrounds the neck, harnesses have a ring that fits on to the chest and the upper body in addition, with linking belts sandwiched between them for strengthening. This arrangement lets the allotment of force which may put off choking and a likelihood of sliding out that can happen with only a collar.

You can also purchase fashionable harnesses for your dog. These are available in leather and precious jewels. Don't think that small dogs are easy to manage and therefore, they need no harnesses. Small dogs can do with collars only, but harnesses make them more secure. Little dogs are highly active because their body weight is not too high. Hence, if you want to catch hold of your small little furry dog, then a dog harness is the perfect alternative for you.

Get The Results You Need With A Citronella Dog Collar

Let me guess . . . I bet that you love your pet, but there is only one or two things you'd like to change. It's things like digging, or perhaps jumping over the fence, or what about the barking? One thing you want to think about using to help with this kind of situation is citronella collars. These are rather popular these days as a training method. Let's take a look at the citronella collars a little more closely.
Dealing with these are all common problems, but without the right tools these little "issues" often results in tears and pain for both confused and frustrated owners of the dogs. A citronella dog collar is totally safe and harmless - when your dog misbehaves, a little fog is sprayed, and the fog bothers them enough to stop the dog from the mis behavior, but it is not enough to harm him. There are several educational tools available, and they all focus on citronella collars.
Anti bark collars automatically activate a citronella spray when the dog barks hit a certain volume level. This helps keep the spray from going off for minor sounds the dog makes. . For more control, you can also get collars citronella you trigger remotely. It's much better to use the citronella collar when working with a dog you want to control the very specific problem, such as theft of certain items, or chewing on things.
Virtual barriers and fences are also available with the use of citronella collars. These are great training tools, and that can help you train a dog to stay in a boundary. When the dog gets too close to the border, a sound warning is given from a transmitter as the dog approaches the region covered by the transmitter. Therefore, if he ignores the boundary, then a spray is triggered by his collar. Ultimately, the dog will hear the sound and the sound it is enough to deter him, because he believes the spray coming.
I should mention here that the citronella collars have nothing to do with the "shock" collars that [...]

Causes Of Dog Aggression

Unexpected dog aggression can be an unnerving experience for a loving dog owner. The caring owner is completely baffled about how their "baby" could suddently show aggression toward friends, family, other dogs, and even the dog's owner/caretaker. Understanding why a dog becomes aggressive can give you the answer as to what action you should take to get the dog back to its usual loving self.

In order to understand why a dog suddenly becomes aggressive, you have to learn how a dog thinks. No matter how much we would like to think so, a dog is not a child and does not think the same way. Dogs are pack animals and our dogs regard us as another member of their pack. Our interactions with our dog determine whether or not we are regarded as the pack leader or as another pack member in need of protection. Is your dog submissive to you and to other dogs or does your pet "run the show". A dog of either personality type can become aggressive. However, each personality type tends to have different causes of that aggression. Often, the personality type is not apparent to the owner who is too close to the situation and it takes the intervention of a professional trainer to diagnose the problem. There are several different types of canine aggression that are often closely connected as causes of individual instances of aggression.

Often, dogs become aggressive when they feel threatened in some way. This threat could take several forms. The dog may be possessive and defending an object it feels belongs to him. This could be food, a toy, a bed or any other object the dog has come to value. Dogs with a submissive personality are less at risk for this type of aggression, but often more dangerous when possessive aggression manifests itself. They are, however, easier to correct and bring back into line.

Another type of dog aggression is territorial possessiveness. Dogs are very territorial creatures and if they feel that their territory is being invaded by members of another pack, then they will protect their space. Dogs who "run the show", who think of themselves as the pack leader rather than their owner, are typically more at risk of this type of aggression. They feel the need to protect the pack's territory from invasion. In the dog's mind their territory could span anything from their own home or yard to the whole neighborhood where they are walked and may have marked the boundaries.

A third type of dog aggression is caused by the animal's instinct to protect itself and its pack. Even the smartest dog is prone to misunderstanding the intentions of other dogs and people it is not familiar with. Again, this type of aggression is more prevalent in dogs who do not consider themselves a follower of their pack leader owner. The pack leader feels a stronger need to be the protector of the pack. However, even a submissive dog may step up when they feel the threat is sufficient and their pack leader (you) is in danger.

Dog aggression can quickly escalate to a dangerous situation for you, your family, your friends and other pets. Even the most minor instances of canine aggression, such as snapping or growling at you for forcing it out of your chair, must be dealt with early on. Aggression will only become worse once the dog establishes a new baseline limit for what it can get away with. Before you have a problem, you should learn positive methods that you can employ to make sure your dog regards you as its master so you can work to control that aggression. Once your dog reaches the point of snapping at people or other dogs, though, the time has come to seek competent professional assistance.

How to start effective dog house training

Many have come to think that housetraining a puppy is essentially bringing around a stack of old newspapers. But contrary to such a limited view, what is also known as housebreaking calls for tons of patience, vigilance, and loyalty likewise to your dog. Keep track of the advice below to reduce house-soiling accidents. Nevertheless, brace yourself for a few violations of your best laid plans. But this is hardly a surprise since it is all part of raising a puppy. In the meantime, the puppy will rely on you to be consistent in implementing basic housetraining procedures that teaches acceptable behavior. Smaller breeds take time to learn, but be assured of the benefits of the training.

Establish A Routine

1) First of all, a regular schedule works wonders in dog house training. As a consequence, you will need to take your puppy outside often, such as every two hours, aside from appointments like when he wakes up after a nap, after playing, eating and drinking.

2) Train the puppy to make use of a bathroom spot instead of soiling the house. One way to implement this goal is to choose a spot near the door, and let it be the dog's bathroom spot. Then bring the soiled rags or paper towels from a recent accident to the bathroom spot. Dogs prefer to eliminate on a spot which contains a scent of their waste. So the smell will help label that spot for your puppy.

3) Heap praise on your puppy whenever he eliminates outdoors. Other dog experts talk of acting like you won the lottery, so that it is impressed on the dog that he did well. A treat is also good. It is important that the rewarding of the dog be done in the instant that the dog is done eliminating, and not only when he is back inside the house. Doing so will help the dog to understand that he needs to eliminate at that spot regularly in order to please you or to get a reward from you.[...]

What Types Of Things Will The Petsmart Dog Training Teach My Dog?

A reader asked..We just adopted a 1-year-old MinPin/Spaniel mix. She's a great dog, very playful. She doesn't bite or get agressive with us (which is grrrrreat!). But she was never trained, and still has a lot of "puppy" in her. She jumps up (over and over and over again no matter how many times you tell her "down" or "no"), barks like crazy at anything and everything that moves (even the neighbors that she's gotten used to), and will pee/poop in the house if we allow her out of her cage for extended periods of time (even if she's just come in from outside). I'd also like her to walk a bit better on her leash instead of doing her best to pull me around the block. Will an obedience training like PetSmart's help with these things, or should I be looking at ways to train her myself

Concerns that support shetland sheepdog training for your dog

There are many dog breeds eager for the opportunity to hoard obedience points, or round up sheep. But there are only a few that are eager to do it to please their masters to the umost level, and the shetland sheepdog has got to be one of them!

On sight, the breed's luxurious coat is the first important detail. But upon knowing it better, it may appear that it actually takes pains to please its master better! The sheltie will sometimes gravitate towards one family member as its favorite family member. But shelties tend to also grow aloof of others in the house that show again and again a hesitancy to spend more time with the dog. But in general, the sheltie's day is made when it can actually meet its whole pack, in one room, enjoying each other's company.

There are at least two traits among shelties that may either dampen your enthusiasm, or challenge you to be a better sheltie owner! One drawback is the dog's penchant for wanton barking (which can reach annoying levels in untrained dogs). The other detail may actually be an advantage, since it is about the dog's instinctual aloofness and wariness of people it meets for the first time.

Shelties actually seem to be the most alive when playing and interacting with sensible and well-mannered children. Sometimes the dog plays with them, and other times simply watches them. But no chances must be taken when dogs will accompany toddlers and infants, since these will need supervision.

Shelties are not only versatile when it comes to work and recreation, but they can also blend into a range of family situations. The root of this must be that their complicated and tangled bloodlines have toned down most of their working drive.

Given their herding history, shelties will thrive the most when they have a job assignment at home. Aside from this, recreation is also important. Shelties will not take boring, repetitive tasks sitting dow [...]

I Am Thinking About Doing A Little Dog Training. What Can Anyone Tell Me About Their Experiences?

A reader asked..I have trained my own dogs for hunt tests, which are similar to field trials. Anyway, I have been thinking about placing some ads to see if I can get a few customers for basic obedience. At this time I have not attended any formal training other than some videos and group training sessions. Has anyone tried to do something like this part time? Thanks.

What's The Best Dog Toy For Your Adult Dog?

As a professional dog trainer, people often ask me what dog toysI recommend they should buy and which ones I use for my own dogs. Here's the answer: Your dog doesn't need more than two toys. Rotate them, so he doesn't get bored. But remember: We'retalking about an animal that eats the same food, day in/day out. And while your dog needs mental stimulation in the form of playand obedience training, they will be perfectly happy withchewing on the same toys, for years. (Much the same way young children can watch the same Barneymovie 100 times without getting bored!)So. . . what are the two best dog toys in my opinion?- The Kong. Either in red or black. (Sometimes you need to playwith your dog and this toy a bit, before your dog getsinterested in it. . . but once they do. . . LOOK OUT. The benefit ofthis toy is that they can chew on it for months and months, inmost cases. You can also stuff it with doggie treats, creamcheese, peanut butter or whatever. - The rope toy. This is usually sold in either white ormulti-strand colors. It is a thick piece of soft rope, tied in aknot on each end. Another great toy because—compared to therawhide bone—this toy will last weeks or months. There are other popular dog toys on the market, too. Everythingfrom the brain stimulating "Buster Cube" to the tried and truepig ears and rawhide bones. Consult your veterinarian beforegiving your dog any new toy, and supervise accordingly

Shocking Dogs - Electronic Dog Collars

So, you have a dog with behavior issues. You've tried everything, but nothing has worked to keep your pooch from chewing the furniture or hosting doggy parties when you're not home. You may have heard about electronic training collars, and you are wondering if this might be the answer. You may figure that an electronic collar may do a better job of getting your dogs attention and making a lasting impression. Before you invest in this training technique, there are some things you should know. There are different types of electronic training collars. One type is a bark collar. As the name suggests, it is used to stop a dog from constant, inappropriate barking. This collar is triggered by the dogs bark. It works by either a vibration or a sound that is felt or heard by the dog the instant the barking starts. It can be set to different levels and responds only to your dogs bark. There are also bark collars that work by spraying an unpleasant spray towards the dogs face as soon as he starts barking. The other type of electronic dog training collar is the behavior correction collar. These training collars are designed to stop unwanted behaviors, including, digging, jumping, and running away. They work by a remote control held by the owner or trainer. When the dog starts the unwanted behavior, the trainer pushes the button to activate an electric shock. There are multiple levels available depending upon how well the pooch responds. The idea with these collars is, because they are operated by remote control, the dog will not realize you are issuing the correction, therefore, you do not look like the bad guy. A disadvantage to this type of collar is that you have to be with the dog in order for the correction to be made. Although the technology and safety of electronic dog collars has improved over the years, they are still a controversial method for training. Many experts believe even difficult to train dogs can learn without the use of a physical corr [...]

How to Prepare For Potty Training a Puppy

If this is your first time potty training a puppy, then you need to remember that things are going to get a bit messy in the near future. To keep your home from becoming like a war zone full of "acid pools" and "landmines," you need to get a stock of these basic things to help you survive the training process:

Odor And Stain Removers
This is one of the very first things you need to obtain during the potty training process. Thefact of the matter is, it is inevitable that your puppy will have an accident in and about your home, and it will remember the location unless you quickly scrub away the spots and stains. The scent is a particularly important thing to get rid of as well, so make sure your cleaner can also get rid of smells.

Used newspapers
These can serve three purposes. One, they can help you soak up the urine or gather up feces. The second thing is, they can also serve as bedding for your dog. Thirdly, these will serve as fillers for your dog potty during the potty training process and afterwards. Just be sure not to mix the second and third together. Even if the paper a dog sleeps upon is kept clean, the dog will be reluctant to excrete on whatever it slept on.

Potty training pads that are pretreated
You can buy these chemically treated pads from your local pet store if you really want to make the potty training process easier. The chemicals encourage your puppy or dog to do its business if it sniffs it, and it can also help eliminate the odour of feces and urine. You will have to spend more money on the product than you will on old newspapers, though.

Cage or crate
If you are potty training a puppy, then you need to keep a crate or cage that matches the puppy's size and gi [...]

Train Your Puppy Early-Group Puppy Training Classes

Getting an early start to training and socializing your puppy with group puppy classes is a great idea. You can get started early-puppies as young as 6 weeks of age are able to learn new tricks. This is the best time to get him started with learning and socializing so that he grows up with very good behavior and doggy manners.

I noticed that the dogs I started training early in group classes grew up to be much better behaved than the earlier dogs I procrastinated starting training with. Prior to using group puppy classes I had 2 aggressive German shepherds. Unfortunately, I didn't even start training them until they had already had enough time to develop aggression issues. With the pups I have taken to early group puppy training lessons, thanks to the socializing, none of them has developed an aggression problem.

In the litter, your pup was getting continual lessons in socialization from his Mama and siblings. During the time a puppy still lives with his Mama and litter mates, he gets continual socializing lessons from them, and if he gets out of line, they will let him know it and put an end to it. For example, the Mama will grab him by the scruff of his neck and hold him still till he relaxes and submits. Puppies normally will learn their guidelines in this way. Just like our kids, they need some guidelines to help them learn the right behaviors.

Since your puppy now depends on you for socialization, you need to make sure he is exposed to other dogs and people and reduce the chance he grows up isolated and aggressive. Dogs are social animals and need companionship to be happy. It is easy to see why it is that a puppy or dog that is kept confined and away from interaction with other puppies or dogs or people is much more likely to become aggressive. I feel that the 2 aggressive dogs I had earlier became that way due to isolation.

Of course starting obedience training early in a group class is important for having a well train [...]

The BC-50

Does your dog bark a lot? Is there no peace in the house when your dog goes off? Does your dog wake you up at night? Does your dog even wake the neighbors? If so, Innotek has the answer. In these situations, what you need is the BC 50 no bark collar.

Mans Best Friends

Dogs are man's best companions. They bring the newspaper to our chairs, the slippers to our beds, and the warmth to our hearts. Nevertheless, sometimes they can get over excited can't they? In these situations, they tend to bark uncontrollably which can become a problem if unchecked. However, you can solve this with the BC-50 that works.

Features of the BC-50

This BC-50 is one of Innotek's greatest innovations. Why? Because it humanely takes care of the problem (PetSafe Approved). The BC-50 is strapped onto your dogs neck and is worn for specific periods during the day. The collar only requires a 6V battery, and it's very light so it doesn't encumber the dog. There aren't remote controls or switches as the collar functions automatically whenever your dog barks. Your dog can wear the collar even if it rains. That's because the BC-50 is resistant to water.

Removing Dog Fleas Dog Training

So you have discovered evidence that your dog has these annoying little pests they call fleas, and now you have no idea how to get them out of your house and home, this article will talk your through the main ways to get rid of these fleas from your dogs coat and from your home.
Getting rid of fleas is no easy task as many other dog owners will tell you, but the chances are that fleas will happen through either another dog coming to play with yours or just picking them up from playing amongst damp fine gravel or sand where fleas like to live and breed.
So let’s take you through the easiest and best ways to rid of theses pests.
The first step is to take your dog or pet to the vet and have the fleas professionally identified to avoid giving your dog the wrong treatment, and get professional advice on possible new products that are on the market.
After this, the vacuum cleaner should come out. This is a very effective way of getting rid of many of the pupae, larvae or eggs that may be lurking beneath the surface of your carpet. Do this often and it will reduce the number of fleas quickly and easily.
The next step is to use household insecticide to clear your house of any flea related growths that your vacuum cleaner may have missed. Although I do not encourage insecticide and other chemicals near your dog or family this is one case where it is vital for getting rid of fleas. Always read the labels carefully and get a well known or professionally recommended product.
After the initial insecticide process and being careful to reach every possible area and corner you may want to insecticide your garden to ensure full removal of fleas, the garden could be more of a problem than the house, and could be where the flea problem began so be sure to target fine gravel or sandy areas where fleas may be living.
Your dog is the next obvious step and there are hundreds of products perfectly safe f [...]

Issues that support sheltie training for your dog

The shetland sheepdog is not the breed to think twice responding to a global following (despite its renowned brand of reserve), and is capable of a big heart and genuine devotion in responding to that love. But as all veteran sheltie owners know, the dog has some personality issues that need prompt training into desirable behavior by the time the dog is mature. Otherwise, both owner and pet risk incurring so much misunderstanding and miscommunication later on due to the foregone opportunities to get things ironed out. Older dogs naturally can still absorb learning, but it is less complicated skirting a problem in puppyhood compared to setting aright one later in the future.

In the same degree that they love their people, some shelties are given to a stubborn streak. The patience of owners may get tested again and again for a while as the sheltie verifies if there is really no room for gray areas. The sheltie's smartness will also sometimes loom high as it is capable of recalling what it learned, what it has been able to pull off before, and how can it pull it off again.

Despite itself, the shetland sheepdog is not some botched breeding experiment! The dog in fact has a rich working history. Working with livestock instilled in the dog a bravery that exceeds the dog's size, and of a bark that is worse than the bite. But in the modern home, the dog has to be trained and motivated to bark only to give warning, and not to bark for the pure sake of barking. A young sheltie will be capable of understanding the distinction.

Brainy and active beyond doubt, the sheltie is therefore easily bored and may turn out destructive if if not given the outlets for activity. Shelties are also human-oriented pets. If they grow up without sheltie training, or are left behind by the [...]

Dog Shampoo Dog Training

There are literally hundreds of companies competing for the market share of dog shampoo and coming up with new ways of cleaning your dog all the time, so it is no surprise that the choice of dog shampoo is endless and anyone looking to buy the best shampoo for their dog for the first time or for their new puppy will be puzzled at all the different options that are available to them.
Dog shampoos are essential to maintaining your dog’s health and well being when it comes to hygiene; some dogs seem to have a great liking for mud and anything else dirty for that matter, so how do you know which shampoo you will need?
Well there are many different types of shampoo to be had, from many different suppliers that are used for different situation and dog types. Dog shampoos available are flea shampoo, Aromatherapy and relaxing shampoos, dry shampoos, Anti tangle shampoos, conditioning shampoos and natural shampoos.
If your dog suffers from a easily tangled coat or you suspect from the length of the dog hair, that tangling may occur then anti tangle shampoos will save you a lot of time and keep your dog so he/she is happier to be washed and cleaned in the future.
Flea shampoo is self explanatory and should only be used if fleas are found or suspected; using flea shampoo for safety shake would not get rid of the fleas for long in any case because of fleas around the house, so flea shampoo should be used only if essential.
Besides ordinary dog shampoo the only other handy and helpful shampoo for shy or easily scared dogs would be the dry spray shampoo, this does not give as good of a clean as normal dog shampoo but there are instances when dog cleaning spray is needed. If it can be avoided then avoid, but if your dog it terrified with water then it may be the only alternative besides a smelly house.

Easiest Way To Leash Train Your Puppy

If you have a new puppy, wouldn't you like to know the easiest way to start his leash training? Get an early start on that by starting to leash train your puppy at a very young age. My new puppy learned how to walk on his leash at only 6 weeks old. He was already heeling at eight weeks old like an old pro.

Try this simple and easy technique to quickly get your puppy used to the leash. Some puppies and dogs hate the very sight of the leash. That is probably because their first exposures to leash training must have been stressful and negative experiences for them.

You only want your puppy to have positive results with leash training, so use this simple tip.I start the leash training of my puppies this way, and they never undergo any negative experiences with the leash. As a matter of fact, they get happy at the sight of the leash, since that means they are about to take a walk with me.

  • Just put the puppy's little flat collar (not the choke collar yet) on first of all, of course. The puppy should have no problems with the flat collar being put on. After that attach his leash, but let it just trail behind him. There is no need to hold the leash just now. Let the puppy walk around the area you have chosen for the leash training without any restraints. Walk along behind your puppy, making sure that the leash doesn't become tangled in anything. As long as the leash remains unobstructed, the puppy probably won't even pay attention to the fact that he's dragging a leash around.
  • After your puppy is used to walking with the leash behind him you can move to the next step. Pick up the leash end, but be sure to not let it tighten up-you still want to keep it slack. Now you can walk with your puppy but let him keep walking along without your controlling him. Begin the next step in leash training after your puppy is very used to walking along with you on his loose leash.
